QB Tanner McKee: Alabama run like NFL team

Tanner McKee is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He’s also one of the only top quarterback recruits to be taking his time with his commitment.

The four-star from Corona (Calif.) Centennial has been visiting schools through the fall and this past weekend he was at Alabama.

“Visit was awesome,” McKee said. “Had a great time. Message was no one else will prepare me like ‘Bama can and has the resources ‘Bama has.”

The Crimson Tide have been involved with the 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect for a long time and McKee finally got a chance to check out gameday in Tuscaloosa.

Not only was that a memorable part of McKee’s trip but also getting a sense of whether that was the right place for him was also important.

The Corona Centennial quarterback will take a two-year Mission after high school so he’s not rushing a decision since classes filling up this recruiting cycle is not exactly his concern.

As for Alabama, the trip went really well.

“They definitely have the resources,” McKee said. “They run their program like an NFL team. I think coach (Brian) Daboll is doing very well as the OC. He knows how to utilize his players’ strengths.”

The only pro-style quarterback among the top 18 ranked prospects at that position still uncommitted, McKee still remains in no rush to make a decision. More visits are expected before the four-star makes his pledge.

He’s expected to visit Washington in a couple weeks for the Utah game and trips to Stanford and BYU are probable before he decides.

McKee has also visited Texas A&M, USC, Texas and UCLA in recent weeks.
