QB Stanzi next MAC standout

Quarterback Rick Stanzi holds offers from two schools and is receiving interest from a handful of schools in the region.
"I got offers from Akron and Bowling Green," he said. "I've been in touch with both coaches and Akron definitely has the location because they are close to home. They are building a good program there and Akron is one of the top schools in the MAC. Bowling Green is much of the same, but they are also run a quarterback friendly offense and they let him do everything so that's really good."

The Mentor (Ohio) Lake Catholic prospect still has not named a top five, but did say he is favoring his offers.
"I don't have any stand out favorites, but I'm favoring Bowling Green and Akron more so because they are good schools that have offered," he said. "I still plan to play out my senior year and then we'll see what happens from there."
This summer the 6-foot-4, 204-pounder has taken in camps at Indiana, Boston College, Purdue, Ohio State, Bowling Green and Syracuse. Did any of the visits standout?
"I was impressed with every school, but I really liked Purdue, Boston College, Ohio State and Syracuse," he said. "Purdue and Ohio State have the best of everything, they are both in the Big Ten and Ohio State is a big school. Boston College is really a football town up there. They are in love with football and I really like their coaches too. Major Applewhite was fun to work with at camp and I like Syracuse a lot."
Stanzi passed for 1,800 yards, 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He added 600 yards rushing and six touchdowns as he was named all-county, first team all-league and second team all-district.
