QB set for playoff battle against rival

Mentor (Ohio) Lake Catholic two-star dual-threat quarterback Rick Stanzi is one of the top players in Cleveland he's ready to show that he's good enough to lead his team to a state championship. The run to the title game starts on Friday when Lake Catholic faces off against Cleveland Bendictine.
"We played them the second week of the season, and it was close the entire way," Stanzi, who is 6-foot-4 and 204 pounds, said. "We pulled through at the end, and it's an on-going rivalry. It should be great.

"I'm very excited about the game. This is what it's all about."
When things are done on the field, Stanzi has recruiting to start looking forward to. He's not really worried too much about the process at this point, but a few teams are starting to get closer and closer to getting an official visit lined up.
"I'm probably going to Toledo on December 9 or 10th," he said. "I'll probably go to Miami the week before or the week after."
Stanzi said the coaches recruiting him at those schools are doing a good job.
"Coach (Matt) Hohman at Miami is a neat guy, and I really like talking to him," Stanzi said. "I also have had good talks with Chris Hedden at Toledo. I'm excited to see what's out there.'
Akron has offered a scholarship, along with Miami, Bowling Green and Toledo. Iowa and Indiana are still showing some interest, but no offers have been extended.
