QB reshuffles top five

In a year of some quality quarterback prospects one of the very best is Eugene Smith. Smith from Miramar (Fla.) High School, says he has five schools that are leading the way.
"Right now I have 35 (scholarship) offers and I think there are five that really stand out," Smith said. Right now I really like Boston College, South Florida, Florida State, LSU and Louisville.

"B.C. produced a top line quarterback in Matt Ryan and I liked how they used Matt. I like their coaches and I really want to visit them to see what their environment is like. I know Boston is a big city but I am a home body and don't get out much.
"The great thing about USF is that it's not too far from home and my parents and family can come and see me play. I love that (offensive) system. It fits me and they are building a great program.
"FSU has great coaches. Jimbo Fisher has put players in NFL. FSU has put a ton of players in the NFL. They have been down a few years but they are coming up fast.
"I love the offense in Louisville. I have been watching them and I play them all the time on NCAA football. They run the spread and pro style offense at the same time. They have various schemes within one. It's a great system for a quarterback.
"LSU is the big time. They are the national champs and they have athletes. They also spread the ball around there to some great players.
"Michigan, Oregon, Georgia and some others are schools that I am interested in as well.
"My decision will come down to a gut feeling. I will take all my visits and weigh my options. I will pick what is best for me."
Smith, 6-4 and 193 pounds, has been working hard on his game during the off-season. His hard work has paid off and he's playing well this spring.
"Spring ball is going great. I have gotten better with my footwork. I am staying in the pocket. I am stepping up in the pocket and delivering an accurate pass.
"The best part of my game is my decision making. I have been coached up very well. I have called all our plays since the end of my sophomore year. The coaches have put faith in me. They trust me and put the game in my hands. But I still need to work on getting better in every aspect of my game."
Smith has taken unofficial visits to UCF, South Florida, Miami, and Florida. He plans on being busy over the next few months.
"I will make some visits this summer to B.C. and LSU and I want to see USF again. I want to get a feel for all of these campuses. I may also attend a few camps because of my competitive nature."
