QB OBrien is taking visits

Quarterback Danny O'Brien out of Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth recently took a couple unofficial visits to schools in the ACC. The 6-foot-3, 194-pounder made his way to Duke and Clemson.
"I went to Duke for their junior day and then just the other day was at Clemson for the Orange and Purple game," he said. "Clemson was awesome. It was my third time down there and I love going there. The atmosphere is intense. I really love their system. Cullen Harper and Willy Korn had a lot of success, it speaks to the system they have on offense and how they use the quarterback.

"As for Duke, I went there a few weeks back for a junior day. It was a great trip. I like where the new staff and Coach Cutcliffe are going with the program and the whole academic thing. Of course his resume with Peyton Manning, Eli Manning and Erik Ainge is great too. He's real wise and has been around the game for a long time."
The visits have just begun for O'Brien.
"Friday morning I'm headed back to Duke and then on Saturday I'm going to Maryland before I come back down for the Shrine Bowl combine."
What is the situation in regards to offers?
"Coach Pearman from Maryland said he wants to see me throw. He mentioned they will take two quarterbacks and said they will probably offer in the future," he said. "Duke hasn't really talked about offering and the other schools want to see me more."
Schools including Northwestern, Kansas State, Michigan State and Illinois are also coming in.
O'Brien plans to head to the Nike Camp at North Carolina and the Elite 11 camp this summer.
