QB Nova decommits from Pitt

Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco quarterback Gary Nova watched Pitt's coaching search closely and remained verbally committed to the Panthers until Saturday.
This weekend the three-star quarterback decided that he wants to open his recruitment back up, and it looks like he will end up somewhere other than Pitt.

"Yeah, I decommitted," Nova confirmed on Saturday afternoon. "Basically the last straw was when (Mike Haywood) got rid of the whole coaching staff and guys like coach Cignetti. That was it for me.
"Coach Cignetti and coach Wannstedt were two of the main reasons I was going to Pitt. They definitely played a role in my commitment there. I just felt like I didn't want to start over again."
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound quarterback said he didn't want to start over with a new coaching staff at Pitt with just a short time between now and Signing Day.
He's already looking at a couple of other schools, though he isn't ready to drop any hints on what schools are involved.
"I don't really want to get into that just yet but it's a school in the SEC and a school in the ACC," he said. "I'm going to send some tapes out and start from scratch."
