While some are saying that this may not be the best year for quarterbacks in the Peach State don’t tell that to what is perhaps the best of the bunch in Austell (Ga.) South Cobb dual-threat quarterback Kenny McKinley.
“Duke offered me a while back and that is the only one so far, but I’m hearing from a lot of folks,” McKinley said.
“North Carolina and Vanderbilt are the schools recruiting me the hardest that have not offered. Georgia is sending me a lot of stuff too and I have been calling coach (Mike) Bobo some lately.”
McKinley has set plans to attend North Carolina on April 10th for junior day and Georgia on April 17th for the Bulldogs spring game.
“I went to visit Duke about month ago. I really liked the visit, they told me that they think that I fit into their offense real well. They are showing me a lot of love. When I was up there I got to go to the Duke-Maryland basketball game and that was definitely a cool experience.”
The 6-foot-1, 170 pound McKinley runs the forty yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He has a 195 pound and 315 pound squat.
“I have called coach Bobo at Georgia a couple of times in the past few weeks and I sent them my tape and they are starting to show me a lot of interest. He wanted me to come up on April 10th for their junior day and then again on the 17th for their spring game, but I had already committed to visit North Carolina on the 10th.”
As a junior he passed for 1,575 yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for 400 yards and eight touchdowns.
