Kafka talked about why he decided on the Wildcats.
"It was a combination of things. First of all, I just love the Northwestern offense, and I feel that I can fit in well in that type of attack. Academically, Northwestern has so much to offer plus I had a really good feeling that I would fit in with the coaches and the players after my official visit. Overall I'm very excited about Northwestern and I'm excited about making my verbal commitment to them."
Kafka admitted that he had some seriously hard college options to consider.
"I was really high on Stanford as well as Pittsburgh, and I had offers from both schools. I looked hard at Stanford, and Pitt also came on late and made me really give them some serious consideration. The coaching situation at both schools was no question a factor for me. It really came down to Northwestern, Stanford and Pitt and in the end everything just pointed to Northwestern for me."
"Getting a chance to play in college close to home also became a bigger factor for me than what I originally thought. My coaches and my family will get a chance to see me play in college now, and that's just very exciting for everyone."
