QB Kafka enjoys his first visit

Chicago (Ill.) St. Rita three star ranked quarterback prospect Mike Kafka (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) took his first official visit to Northwestern University last weekend, and Kafka came away very impressed with the Wildcats.
"I didn't get to Northwestern until Saturday," Kafka said. "So my visit went from Saturday until Monday afternoon, and it was a great visit overall."

Kafka talked about what stood out on his visit in Evanston.
"I really liked the fact that I had a chance to just hang out with the players and I also got a chance to get to know the coaches much better as well as in a more personal environment. Offensive lineman Zach Strief was my player host and we got along really well, and I think I got along with the rest of the players very well. I really felt like I fit in at Northwestern with the team and the coaches."
Kafka, who has an offer from Stanford also hasn't written off the Cardinals despite the recent firing of Buddy Tevens.
"I've heard from a few of the assistant coaches at Stanford and they have been staying in contact with me. They are still in the picture."
Kafka for now has no additional visit plans.
"I have a home visit set with the Northwestern coaches later this week. I'm going to wait and see how everything shakes out and I'm still trying to sort out my options before I make my final college choice."
