QB Jones preparing for a busy weekend

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park junior dual-threat quarterback prospect Demetrius Jones (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) was hoping to make a few college junior day visits last weekend, but Jones was slowed by some unexpected issues that prevented him from checking any schools out in person.
"I wanted to get to a few juniors days last weekend at Purdue and Michigan but I couldn't make it," Jones said. "I had some travel issues and I couldn't get a ride to any of the schools, plus I also came down with something over the weekend."

Jones, who has early offers from both Illinois and Michigan, is hoping his fate is better this coming weekend.
"I'm planning to check out the junior day at Notre Dame this Sunday. I definitely want to see what's going on at Notre Dame, and they seem like they are very interested in me. Being a Chicago kid, you just can't help but seeing what Notre Dame has to offer. I'm excited about seeing South Bend in person on Sunday."
Jones has also continued to draw plenty of mail and recruiting interest from schools across the country this winter.
"According to my coach (Lexie Spurlock) several schools have already requested more tape, and he also said that he talked with coaches from a ton of different schools. I would say that Louisville, Tennessee and Texas Tech have been sending me a lot more mail lately. Those three seem very interested and a lot of schools are also inviting me to their camps and spring practices."
Jones in the meantime is still working hard this winter getting ready for what he hopes will be a huge senior season.
"I just want to work hard this winter, because I have a lot to prove to myself and my team for next season. I know that I have a rep of being a scrambler type of quarterback, but I want to be able to do it all. I want to be equally as strong in the pocket as I am on the run for next year. My goal is to become the best all around quarterback that I can be, and I hope that the colleges will agree in the end."
