QB Johnson starts to name favorites

Paterson (N.J.) John F. Kennedy quarterback Chris Johnson has a handful of scholarship offers. The 6-foot-2, 202-pounder is apparently starting to consider favorites as the season approaches.
"We've got offers now from Rutgers, Temple, Delaware and Bowling Green," his father, Ed Johnson said. "I think it's still hard to say who he favors, but I think he likes Syracuse, Bowling Green, Iowa State a lot because they are top football programs.

"He doesn't have offers from Syracuse or Iowa State, but they are both checking him out a lot and are interested. They both will get back to him more this fall. I think he has a chance to see a bunch of other offers soon as schools including Buffalo, East Carolina, Maryland Cincinnati and more are also in contact."
Johnson plans to make a couple visits in the near future.
"I know we're looking at potentially visiting Buffalo and Delaware sometime soon."
In the meantime, the three-star prospect is focusing on his season.
"Chris and the rest of his team start on August 12th and they have been working hard," he said. "He is right around 210-pounds and is solid this year. I can also tell he has a lot more confidence this season."
Johnson accounted for over 2,200 yards of offense and 23 touchdowns last season as he earned all-league, county and area honors.
