QB Jamarye Joiner talks Arizona trip, possible visits

Jamarye Joiner has been committed to Arizona for months. Watching Khalil Tate tear up the Wildcats’ opponents only helps.

The Tucson (Ariz.) Cienega three-star dual-threat quarterback has watched Tate exploit defenses all season and it excites Joiner because he feels he can be just as successful.

That’s good news for Joiner and excellent news for the Wildcats since it's expected he stays committed even though others are giving chase.

“They want to use me in the same exact way they use him and it’s exciting to watch because I feel I’m just as capable of doing the things he has done,” Joiner said.

The three-star standout is nowhere near all talk. He’s backing it up in a big way this season with his stats - and he’s helped lead his team to an undefeated record as playoffs continue.

So far this season, Joiner has thrown for 2,070 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s also rushed for 1,274 yards and 17 touchdowns. Sound much like Arizona's current quarterback?

The Cienega standout is still being pursued by other programs but Joiner said after his most recent visit to Arizona that he’s not sure if he’s taking any other trips.

If visits happen, the three-star dual-threat quarterback said he would consider visiting Arizona State and Utah.
