Jacob Conover picked a great game to see Arizona State.

The 2019 three-star quarterback from Chandler, Ariz., was in attendance for the Sun Devils’ upset of Washington last weekend and it was definitely an exciting night.

“The ASU trip was a great experience,” Conover said.

“The thrill of watching a team like ASU, a team right in your own backyard pull of an upset on a top-five opponent is special to be a part of.”

It was especially nice for Conover to be there to see former Chandler teammates excel on the biggest stage. There are some major connections between the 2019 three-star quarterback and some Arizona State players and that could be important in his recruitment.

“The environment was at an all-time high (Saturday) night and it’s great to see Chase Lucas and N'Keal Harry who are former Chandler Wolves dominate on the field,” Conover said.

“It’s awesome to watch Manny Wilkins battle through what he has experienced in life and transition that to the field. Manny and I train together with our QB coach Dennis Gile. Not many times do you get to watch your former teammates become hometown heroes like Chase and N'Keal.”

So far, Conover lists offers from Alabama, Arizona, BYU, Memphis, Nevada, Northwestern, Oregon State and Utah State.

He has had limited contact with the Sun Devils but he hopes that picks up through his junior season and into the offseason.

“ASU hasn't shown a ton of interest in me but they have identified me as a prospect,” Conover said. “It will be exciting to see the development of this ASU team.”

The 2019 three-star quarterback said Michigan State has been getting involved recently.
