QB impressed by UCLA visit

Devon Modster was one of the many prospects at the USC-UCLA game last weekend in the Rose Bowl and he saw the Bruins' offense carve through the Trojans all night.
The 2016 three-star quarterback had a great time at the game and was very impressed with UCLA's performance even if he didn't get a chance to chat with the coaches.

The Bruins are showing a lot of interest in Modster, from Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Tesoro, and he hopes it continues as the off-season approaches.
"I showed up at the game and one of the recruiting coordinators walked us onto the field and we watched them do warm-ups and then we were in the stadium and the crowd was loud and big and it was a great atmosphere for the game," Modster said.
"I was supposed to talk to coach (Taylor) Mazzone before the game but he ended up being busy and we were trying to beat the crowd so we left the game early so I didn't get to talk to any coaches."
Arizona is the first offer for Modster, who helped lead his team to nine wins as a junior and many other Pac-12 programs are showing early interest.
UCLA has been in the mix but has not offered at this point. Modster definitely has a lot of interest in the program.
"I've just been talking to coach Mazzone," Modster said. "I haven't really asked him about how the process is so I'm not really sure yet about an offer.
"(UCLA's win over USC) does influence me. I was looking at the offensive play-calling and that was good. It seems like a great offense to be in."
The 2016 quarterback believes his recruitment is about to pick up. With another of the top California quarterbacks now off the board to Florida State, Modster believes other programs could turn their focus to him.
"A lot of the colleges are telling me they're going to wait until after the season to do their evaluations," Modster said. "After I saw Malik Henry committed I feel more offers are going to come in."
