QB Hopkins talks Charlotte interest

Even though he doesn't fit the mold of a typical quarterback, class of 2015 Charlotte (N.C.) Independence quarterback Kelvin Hopkins is out to prove that you don't have to be 6-feet tall to stand tall in the pocket.
Over the past few months several schools have shown interest in Hopkins, including Charlotte, Air Force, Virginia Tech and Duke.

The 49ers are his hometown school and one he's really hoping to add to his offer list.
"Charlotte said that they liked me a lot but as of now they don't know if they want to offer a quarterback yet," Hopkins said. "If they can get a chance then I'm a guy they want to offer."
Clearly Charlotte offers the chance to play high-level college ball and stay close to home, something that really appeals to Hopkins. However, he said he wouldn't be opposed to leaving the area if it means getting a chance to continue his football career.
"I'm really close to my family so staying close to home is important," he said. "But to play football I'll go where it takes. I'll find a way to see my family."
