QB Ford ready to audition for Illini, IU

In the offense he plays in at Cuyahoga Falls (Ohio) Walsh Jesuit, class of 2015 quarterback Pat Ford doesn't get too many opportunities to sling the ball around the field. So when he had a chance to compete at the Under Armour All-America Combine earlier this month, he jumped at it.
"My team is more of a ground and pound type team," Ford said. "So I don't really get to show what I can do as a passer that's why I like to come out and when I get the chance."

Ford has been picking up plenty of interest from schools from all over the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana and several others. But when it comes time to offers, Ford hears the same thing from coaches.
"They want to see me throw this summer at camp," Ford said. "I already visited Indiana and Illinois last year and I plan on going back to those and to plenty of others. I'll be pretty busy this summer."
If Ford had his way, the Illini would be the first school to join his offer list.
"It's the Big 10 and that would be a great opportunity," he said. "I really like the coaching staff. I think they're going to turn things around this year and that's something I'd like to be a part of."
