QB finishes impressive camp tour

After camping at eight different schools, quarterback Drew Willy of Randolph, N.J. feels that he showed off his talents and is expecting to here good news soon.
"I just returned from Michigan, I took a vacation from the eight camps I went to but I have to get back in touch with all the coaches that told me to give them a call," said the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder. "I'm expecting offers from a few of them. The camps went great though, the coaches loved seeing me in person because on my film we are such a run-based offense that they don't get a chance to see my drop back passing skills, which are my strengths."
Drew camped at the following schools -- Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Maryland, Uconn, Rutgers Syracuse and Michigan State.
He talked about each of his visits.
Notre Dame - "At ND it was great to meet all the coaches and work with the quarterback coach Bill Diedrick. There's just so much tradition there, it was amazing."
Pittsburgh - "Walt Harris is a quarterback genius and I've been keeping in contact with their wide receiver coach Pete Carmichael, he recruits in New Jersey."
Virginia - "Working with Mike Groh was amazing because we are from the same high school, he showed me things I need to work on."
Maryland - "I had a great camp. They had some great wideouts there, so I was throwing to some of the best receivers in the east. I plan on calling their coaching staff today."
Connecticut - "I think their QB coach was very impressed with me in person. He told me that he really liked my frame, footwork and my release...I have to call them today as well."
Rutgers - "RU treated me so well. I enjoyed all the time spent with coach Schiano and the rest of the coaching staff. Coach Steeg, the QB coach, was great and I really think that he was impressed by what I did there."
Syracuse - "At Syracuse, coach Steve Bush is the QB coach and he told me that he was very impressed when we did one-on-ones with receivers. Coach Pasquolini talked to me for about an hour on everything they do at Syracuse. He brought me in to watch some film on Peyton Manning of the Colts, that was really cool."
Michigan State - "It was amazing, I loved working with coach Nussmeir. They already have offered two quarterbacks so I’m going to see what happens there, but they told me that they really liked me."
Because his high school offense is so run oriented, Drew really hadn’t had the chance to prove himself. Now that he has was able to throw in front of numerous coaches he’s hoping that it was enough. For now, this talented quarterback has an offer from Florida Atlantic.
