QB Eman is making strides

If anyone is qualified to talk about senior dual-threat quarterback Travis Eman it's his head coach from Buffalo (N.Y.) Canisius.
Brandon Harris, Eman's coach, has been watching the signal caller develop and mature as a quarterback in recent months and he told Rivals.com on Tuesday that his quarterback is making great strides.

"The best thing that happened to Travis this year is we got a kid who's a junior that's more of a traditional quarterback," Harris explained. "He's got a very strong arm and he's extremely accurate. The competition's been good for him [Eman]. We joked about it last week. I told him the best thing that happened to you was having [the junior quarterback] come in. Some kids might take that the wrong way but he agreed wholeheartedly.
"In the last month and a half his arm's gotten a lot stronger than it was last year. That's saying something because he had a cannon as it was. He's throwing darts everywhere all over the field."
Eman has locked up the starting job going into his senior season and he should put up big numbers through the air and on the ground.
"The thing with Travis is this ... during 7 on 7's and things like that he wants to go out there and get the contact, and he can't do that. The contact makes him play better. He's a dual-threat guy that can take it from the gun or under center and he's just fast. He takes angles away from guys."
A lot of colleges are showing serious interest in Eman. Oregon and Penn State are both monitoring his progress, as is Syracuse. Buffalo has offered him a scholarship and the UConn coaches appear interested as well.
The first few games of Eman's season will be very important if he is going to pick up any new offers, and his coach is confident he will be generating a lot of interest in the fall.
