QB Demetrius Jones likes competition

Chicago (Ill.) Morgan Park junior dual-threat quarterback prospect Demetrius Jones (6-foot-3, 185 pounds) once again was on the move this past weekend.
"I took a few unofficial visits," Jones said. "I went to Illinois on Friday and then I also checked out Toledo on Saturday. Toledo has offered me a scholarship."

Jones talked about his latest unofficial visit to Illinois on Friday.
"The more I visit Illinois, the better it's feeling to me. Illinois and it's coaching staff and players are really starting to feel like Morgan Park, meaning that it's feeling more and more like home. I really like Illinois and for now they are my leader. The coaches and the players at Illinois are great, but I'm also looking at the bigger picture like academics, depth chart and just my overall feel. Illinois has a great coaching staff that is working really hard at turning things around, and I just like watching them work in practice. The offense has been fun to check out and I think the Illinois fans will be surprised at the offense. I'm looking at heading back to Illinois on Saturday for some photo shoot as well as the spring game."
Jones also came away with his latest offer on Saturday from the University of Toledo.
"Toledo offered me on Saturday. I checked out it's spring game on Saturday and it was fun. They (Toledo) really have a nice feel and atmosphere, and they (coaches and players) all seem to be on the same page. You can really tell the difference between say the Big Ten and the MAC schools when it comes to facilities, but Toledo plays some solid football. The area surrounding Toledo is also all about Rocket football, that's for sure."
"A lot of people have been wondering why I'm checking out so many schools this spring, and basically it's because I want to see and experience as many different schools and programs. I'm able to learn things from every campus visit, and especially from the different spring practices and games. I'm able to learn something from every coach and program that I feel will help me be a better player. The different campus visits will also help me make my final college decision."
Jones also talked about Notre Dame receiving an early verbal commitment from Mechanicsburg (Pa.) quarterback Zach Frazer late last week.
"Notre Dame is still definitely in the picture for me, and I'm taking an unofficial visit to South Bend on Thursday. I was going to the spring game on Saturday, but the coaches want to get me in and talk without all of the distractions of the spring game. I like competition and I expect competition at the college level no matter which school I decide to attend. When was the last time the Irish got commitments from two of the top ten quarterbacks in the country? That's my take right now on the Irish getting a verbal last week. I'm still giving Notre Dame some serious consideration no question and I'm looking forward to talking with them on Thursday."
