QB David waiting on the Gamecocks

With coaches coming by Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek pretty much every day during the spring evaluation period, 2015 quarterback Daniel David is hoping to make his mark. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Daniel already has two FCS offers, but he's hoping to impress an FBS staff and earn an offer heading into the summer.
"I just threw for Boston College and I'm expecting to see Cincinnati soon," David said. "Coach Mangus from South Carolina said he'll be coming down to watch practice and Florida is supposed to come by and so is Ole Miss."

With so many potential options, David is keeping an open mind. However, one school does have an edge above the rest.
"I'm hoping South Carolina is the closest," he said. "They said they want to watch me throw again in person so hopefully after I throw for them I can pick up an offer."
David has been a regular in Columbia during the recruiting process and is very familiar with the program.
"I love it every time I go up there," he said. "It's great. It's close to home and I just like the atmosphere, the coaches, everything."
David considers himself a passer first but can also do quite a bit of damage with his legs. His playing style often draws comparisons to a former South Carolina signal-caller.
"A few people have said that I play like Connor Shaw because I run and pass," he said. "Our offenses are very similar and I feel like I would fin in very well there."
Even if David adds a few offers in the spring, he's still planning on making some camp visits this summer.
"I'm going to go to a few camps," he said. I went to a lot last year but this year I'm going to slow it down. I definitely want to go to South Carolina, that's my No. 1 right now but I haven't made any more plans besides that."
