QB commits to Orange

The Syracuse Orange like quarterbacks who can move around and do damage with their legs as well as with their arm. They just got a commitment from a good fit for their offense.
"I committed the other day to Syracuse," said Lansdale (Pa.) North Penn quarterback Adam Hearns. "I always liked Syracuse and Donovan McNabb was one of my favorite players. It's a great program, I get to play half my season in the Carrier Dome in perfect conditions and I liked the coaching staff."

Hearns, who threw for 14 touchdowns against only one interception as a junior in leading his team to a 15-0 record, chose the Orange over offers from UConn, Temple and Purdue. He was also being recruited by Virginia Tech, West Virginia (as a defensive back), Georgia Tech and others.
"Syracuse was my first offer, back in April," he said. "They reallu liked my film and thought I would be a good fit. I like the kind of offense they run."
As a junior, Hearns threw for 1,200 yards and rushed for 850 more. He scored 14 touchdowns on the ground as well as in the air.
