QB Challenge Finalists: Brandon George

The Rivals Quarterback Challenge Finals are this upcoming weekend in Baltimore with 12 of the nation’s top signal callers from the 2017 and 2018 classes testing their skill not only against unforgiving immobile targets but also throwing to live receivers in coverage. Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell briefly breaks down each quarterback expected at the event.

Recruiting wrap: George has received offers from Boston College, Hawaii, New Mexico, North Texas, Bucknell, Wake Forest, Wyoming and others. Since his performance at the QB Challenge, Houston, Oklahoma State, Memphis, Navy, Colorado State, Ohio, Tulsa, Alabama, Northwestern, SMU, Illinois and Minnesota have made contact. He has a great relationship with the coaches at Bucknell.

What I like: George is a mobile quarterback who came from behind to win the Dallas event. He showed in that setting that he can deliver when the pressure is on.

George is more comfortable outside the pocket and is at his best when throwing on the run. He also throws a nice, well-timed deep ball on a line. George attacks the launch point during the rollout drills and does everything quickly and with determination. George is strong and thick, which helps with his arm strength.

What I want to see in Baltimore: One of the lesser-recruited prospects to make the finals, I want to see George continue to show the hunger, hustle and drive that helped him win in Dallas. While his arm strength is solid, his ball can wobble at times and he can lower his launch point when he’s not consistent and focused. George has a tendency to aim the ball at times, so I’d like to see a more fluid and especially consistent motion.
