QB Brown nearing a decision

Quarterback Desi Brown may be closing in on a decision. The Norwood (N.C.) South Stanly prospect holds three offers and may have one school leading according to his head coach.
"I think he's pretty close to committing to East Carolina," South Stanly head coach Luke Little said. "He likes Coach Fitch. They email back and forth and they are strong on him playing quarterback.

"Desi also doesn't want to go that far away. The other offers he has are a pretty good distance away."
How close is Brown to a decision?
"I think pretty close," he said. "I think it could be in the next week or two. If a big offer from nearby doesn't come, he'll probably commit to East Carolina."
One other prospect is getting a fair amount of interest in South Stanly running back Cody Melton.
"Cody went to NC State's camp and Coach Bridge and their coaches really liked him," he said. "They said if he was three or four inches taller they would have offered on the spot.
"They loved his work ethic, feet and quickness. A lot of Division I schools like him, but are still scared of his size."
