Brock Purdy continues to take important official visits - and he continues to have excellent experiences on the road.
Two weekends ago, the three-star quarterback from Gibert (Ariz.) Perry took his trip to Boise State and had a phenomenal time. A decision might have been close.
Then Alabama offered and Purdy decided to slow things down. A visit to Iowa State happened this past weekend and the Gilbert Perry standout was blown away.
“The visit was awesome,” Purdy said of Ames.
“They treated us like family and really got a good feel for the college in general. Coach (Matt) Campbell said I'd be a great fit especially since I came from an offense that is very similar.”
Playing for Campbell would be a huge bonus for Purdy, who threw for 4,405 yards with 57 touchdowns and nine picks in his senior season. He also rushed for 1,017 yards and nine scores.
Spending the weekend with Campbell, the other coaches and around the Iowa State program could play a big role later when Purdy is prepared to make his commitment.
“Great, humble coach who has an amazing vision for the program,” Purdy said. “That's what I like about him.”
Before any commitment is made, Purdy plans to visit UCF and Alabama throughout this next week and weekend and then figure out where things stand in his recruitment.
