QB a star on and off the field

Hutson Mason is a quarterback prospect putting up astounding numbers for his Lassiter High School football team in Marietta, Georgia. Mason, 6-2 and 190 pounds, has thrown for 3,086 yards, 36 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Maybe more impressive is his 73 percent completion percentage. This weekend they have a monster game against Roswell.
"They are 9-0 and we are 9-0," Mason said. "This is a huge game. It's the difference between a one seed and two seed for the playoffs and that's so big. We are playing at home it will be awesome. We are putting in the full game plan tomorrow, maybe some new stuff. It should be a great game."

Equally intriguing in the life of Huston Mason is the TV, The Ride. He's one of eight quarterbacks that have been selected for this show. They will follow him and the others, kind of like a quarterback reality show. They will be paired down to four then two. The winner gets an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
"It actually starts tonight at 10:30 (on Comcast - CSS). They will mainly be basing it off our season. They will also select two of us to play in the Aloha Classic in Hawaii. We did our first filming in back in Philadelphia over the summer both there and in Orlando. Ron Jaworski and Sam Wyche are two of our instructors and I know they are pretty actively involved.
"I am really excited about this. It's been one of the best experiences of my life."
With his big senior season and the show exposure, maybe more teams will give Mason a shot. So far he has (officially) visited Western Michigan.
"Central Michigan came by today and they have actually only recently come into the mix. I think they are close to offering. They watched me practice. I have been talking to UCF and I am going to UAB next week for an unofficial visit."
