Earlier this summer offensive lineman Ryan Ehrie committed to Syracuse. Ehrie answers a variety of questions.
Why did you select Syracuse?

"When I visited there and talked to the coaches I felt like I fit in the program. I feel like I fit in well with their offense."
Who was your second choice?
"I guess it probably would have been Maryland. They offered too. It was a pretty hard decision."
Talk about academics.
"Syracuse is one of the top academic schools. I'll get a very good education there."
Did you talk with the Syracuse coaches about playing next season?
"They want me to redshirt as a true freshman, then they want me to compete for a starting job my redshirt freshman season."
Have you thought about playing football after college?
"I'll think about that more once I'm in college. But it would be great to make it to the NFL someday."
The 6-foot-7 and 295 pounder from Bethlehem (Pa.) Freedom was an all-conference selection his junior season. Ehrie has been a varsity starter on both sides of the ball since his freshman year.
