Pylon Los Angeles Invitational - Top performers

Recruiting wrap: Hawkins holds scholarship offers from San Jose State and Washington.
Performance: The three-star athlete shined on both sides of the ball, locking down receivers at cornerback and hauling in touchdown passes from the slot on offense. He was very physical near the line of scrimmage and particularly tough to beat on underneath routes as he deciphered plays well. As a receiver, Hawkins showed great hands and impressive body control.

CB
Darnay Holmes (2017)
Newbury Park, Calif.
Recruiting wrap: Holmes holds over 20 scholarship offers and recently returned from out-of-state visits to Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M. He also stopped by UCLA earlier this month.
Performance: The five-star corner was sticky in coverage all afternoon and, thus, was hardly tested by opposing quarterbacks. Holmes stays low to the ground and is smooth in his backpedal, allowing him to turn easily when he has to and break toward the ball.
4
WR
JaQuan Blackwell
Perris (Calif.) Citrus Hill
Recruiting wrap: Blackwell is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: The 6-foot-1, 187-pound wideout was lethal down the field, snagging a couple long touchdowns to lead his team to an unscathed afternoon. Blackwell had one deep score during an overtime period where he got past the safety and made an acrobatic catch in the back of the end zone for the win.
5
CB
Javon Mitchell (2017)
Los Angeles Augustus Hawkins
Recruiting wrap: Mitchell has garnered interest from Washington and Washington State.
Performance: The 5-foot-10, 170-pound defensive back was a nuisance for any slot receiver that he matched up against. Mitchell knocked away various passes up the middle and had an interception that he would have easily returned for a touchdown in a normal game.
6
QB
Brevin White (2018)
Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany
Recruiting wrap: White is new to the recruiting process, though he's very familiar with it given that his brother, Brady, is a freshman quarterback at Arizona State.
Performance: The young gunslinger made some impressive throws into tight windows and despite his relative inexperience showed a great understanding of coverages. He found open receivers and put the necessary touch to move the chains
7
WR
Michael Pittman
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Recruiting wrap: Pittman is committed to UCLA, but he's listening to what other schools have to offer.
Performance: The versatile athlete used his big frame to box out smaller cornerbacks in space. He got open with ease and moved fluidly down field, gliding past defenders and then using his physicality to make tough catches..
8
LB
Merlin Robertson (2018)
Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Recruiting wrap: Robertson holds early offers from Miami and Utah.
Performance: The 6-foot-2, 190-pound athlete played both ways and easily stood out even though he's technically still a freshman. Robertson overwhelmed smaller corners on the edge, and he also showed a great feel for breaking up passes up the middle from the safety position.
9
TE
Alec Stewart
Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic
Recruiting wrap: Stewart said he could camp with Arizona State and Colorado this summer, but he currently holds no scholarship offers.
Performance: Despite playing only defensive end in high school last year, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound Stewart looked solid in his transition to tight end. He moved well for his size and showed strong hands.
10
WR
Jarrin Pierce
Mission Hills (Calif.) Bishop Alemany
Recruiting wrap: Pierce visited USC earlier in the week and has been hearing from Washington State.
Performance: He showed a knack for making big plays when his team needed it most. Pierce stepped up by drifting into soft spots in coverage, but he was just as impressive after the catch.
11
QB
Will Olvera
Palm Springs, Calif.
Recruiting wrap: Olvera has been hearing from Northern Arizona and San Jose State.
Performance: The 5-foot-8, 164-pound quarterback made all the right reads down low but aired it out when he had to, showing good touch on throws down field. It's difficult to find a signal caller that's more productive in the 7-on-7 setting than Olvera.
12
DB
Malik Street (2017)
Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco
Recruiting wrap: Street is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: The 5-foot-11, 173-pound safety had a strong showing in coverage and reacted well on the ball. He broke fast and closed on ball carriers with aggression
