Pyke visits MD

Baltimore (Md.) Boys Latin School offensive tackle Greg Pyke took an unofficial visit this past weekend. The 6-foot-5, 315-pounder headed over to College Park to meet Randy Edsall and Maryland's new staff.
"I took a trip to Maryland last weekend," he said. "It went really well, I got to meet all the coaches and it was a very good visit."

Having been to Maryland before, what was new about Pyke's trip to Maryland this time around?
"I went down when Coach Friedgen was there and now with Coach Edsall they are definitely turning the program around," he said. "They are definitely doing a lot of changes and I'm getting a good vibe.
"I like the offense they are running. A lot of the coaches they brought in, the offensive coordinator is from LSU and they are there to build and win a national championship."
Of course, Pyke and his family were able to meet with Randy Edsall for the first time.
"My parents had a lot of good things to say about the visit and we met with Coach Edsall," he said. "He's very high spirited and excited about the upcoming season, his first season there. I think a lot of changes he's made are for the better and he's putting Maryland football back on the map."
Pyke claims no other visits are set at this time.
So, does anyone lead for the lineman?
"I like Maryland because it's close enough to home, but far enough away," he said. "I like the attraction of Coach Brattan, I like him a lot. Penn State was good too. I think I just have to go take more visits this summer."
According to Pyke a number of other schools including Georgia and Georgia Tech are inquiring for him to come to camp this summer.
