Purdue the next stop for Allen

INDIANAPOLIS - Four-star safety Antonio Allen of Ben Davis High in Indianapolis had never attended a combine before Monday's Best of the Midwest event in his hometown. The 5-10, 200-pound prospect fared very well, however, and talked about his recruitment afterward.
Allen's two most recent offers came in from Illinois and Indiana last month. He also holds an offer from Purdue, and plans his next junior day visit to West Lafayette.

"I go to Purdue this weekend on the 25th," Allen said. "I don't really know too much about the Purdue program. I'm looking for nice coaches, a good school and somewhere I can play."
Following the Purdue visit, Allen is considering taking a trip to Michigan State the following weekend. He does not hold an offer from the Spartans, but has been in contact with their staff.
"I have just been getting a lot of letters from them, not so much talking," Allen said. "I'm going to try to get up there, though."
A decision for the nation's No. 180 ranked prospect is still a long way offer. He said location will not be a deciding factor for him, but another factor will play a large role in his decision.
"I want to go somewhere I am going to play and not sit the bench," Allen said. "That's really my big concern. I'm not trying to go somewhere I will sit the bench."
For now, Allen is focusing on preparation for his senior season. Besides Monday's combine, he has also been putting work in at the weight room, and now boasts a 285-pound bench press, 460-pound squat and 280-pound power clean.
"I'm trying to get bigger, stronger and faster to win State," Allen said. "That's what everyone is trying to do - win State - and I'm going to go hard so we can go to State."
