Purdue offers N.J. linebacker

One might be tempted to glance at the offer list of Kaiwan Lewis and assume the New Jersey linebacker has just about everything he could want.
After all, nearly two dozen schools have offered the Hammonton (N.J.) St. Joseph prospect.

Lewis has already done his homework on a good number of the schools recruiting him but he still has a lot of research to do. He will also want to take other visits before he significantly narrows his list and makes his decision.
That decision continues to get tougher as more schools continue to offer.
"Purdue just offered me," Lewis said this weekend. "Coach Lou Anarumo just gave me the news. He's my recruiter.
"I know they have great academics but I'm not too familiar with the school yet. I do know coach Lou will be at my school at the end of the month so I'll know more about them by then."
Lewis went on to say he believes Clemson and Wisconsin could be the next two schools to offer scholarships but he's not sure beyond that.
The 6-foot-2, 227-pound linebacker is one of the top defensive prospects in New Jersey.
