Purdue next on Barwick tour

Cincinnati (Ohio) Summit Country Day defensive tackle Michael Barwick has not let many Saturdays go to waste this fall. The class of 2014 prospect has made it out to six college games since September, and will see No. 7 this Saturday.
"I am going to Purdue this weekend," Barwick reported. "They actually have been showing a lot of interest lately. I have been getting a lot of letters and talked with their coaches."

Barwick has already made visits to Cincinnati, Michigan, West Virginia, Louisville, Ohio State and Illinois this fall.
"All of them were great to me," Barwick said. "There wasn't one school in particular that I really liked differently than the others."
Barwick lists Indiana, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Purdue, Louisville and Boston College as the schools showing the most interest at this stage of the process. He picked up an offer from Western Michigan before his junior season, and is hoping to add to that list soon.
"I am pretty sure a whole bunch of schools are pretty close," Barwick said. "A lot of schools actually liked my film and a couple new schools started sending me mail and communicating with me. One in particular, Boston College, started communicating with me. Coach [Andrew] Raphael has been sending me a bunch of information on the school and saying they'd stay in touch."
Following his junior season, Barwick earned defensive player of the year honors in his district by collecting 75 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and five fumble recoveries.
