Purdue lands commitment from three-star EDGE DJ Allen

Germantown (Tenn.) edge rusher DJ Allen had been committed to UCF since June 12th, but recently backed off that pledge on November 5th.

When that happened, two programs Allen had close ties to instantly jumped back in the fold in Louisville and Purdue.

On Thursday, Allen announced his commitment to the Boilermakers just days ahead of national signing day on December 20th.

Allen took an unofficial visit to Purdue back in March and had scheduled an official with the Boilermakers back in June, but ended up committing to UCF before that happened.

Instead, Purdue will get the 6-foot-3, 230-pound talent back on campus this upcoming weekend for an official visit.

"I talk to the whole staff and their program has been changing," Allen recently said of Purdue. "They have been working and winning. In my opinion, they’re maintaining in the Big Ten."

Purdue outside linebackers coach Joe Dineen visited Allen last.

During his senior season, Allen posted huge numbers that included 75 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 17 sacks.
