Purdue is first for Texas lineman

Another Southlake (Texas) Carroll offensive lineman has added a scholarship offer and this time it's offensive guard Sam Schwartzstein.
Purdue let the 6-foot-3, 257-pound Schwartzstein know about their offer for him. Even though he sent in his tape to the Big Ten school, Schwartzstein says it still was surprising to grab the first.

"It was a shock really," Schwartzstein said about the first offer. "I had talked to them recently and I sent my tape to them. They just seem really nice. It's really great to have it. Coach Joel Thomas is recruiting me. He's a great guy."
Schwartzstein says that Vanderbilt, Oregon, and SMU have said they want to check him out in person before offering. All three are just a few schools that he is expecting to see as his team starts their spring practices on Tuesday.
"I don't know if I'll do any visits other than some camps this summer," he said. "I'm not sure which ones I'm going to yet.
"Right now we start spring practice officially tomorrow. So I'm pretty excited about that. Vanderbilt sends a lot, and Oregon. They said they're coming down this spring to see me. SMU said they were coming to see me too."
