Puff down to two schools

Belews Creek (N.C.) Carver defensive tackle Isaiah "Puff" Thomas has narrowed his list down to two schools.

"It's basically down to North Carolina and NC State," said the 6-foot-3, 300-pounder. "I've visited both of them and not it's time to get down to deciding. I don't think I'll take my last trip."

Thomas was supposed to trip to Tennessee this weekend and hasn't ruled it out, but he's pretty sure he'll remain in state.

"I really liked my visit to NC State this past weekend, I got along well with everyone and I could see myself being there for four years," he said. "But North Carolina was just as good. It's crazy because each of them have good players, especially along the defensive line, that I've gotten to know over the last few months. I'd fit in well at either place."

So what will it come down to?

"It'll be a gut feeling," he said. "I really like the coaches from both places so it's going to be hard to say no to one of them. I'll probably think on it this week and then decide. I still might take Tennessee, but like I said I doubt it."
