MORE: Under Armour Week: Stock up, stock down

Despite the coaching situation distracting him at the Under Armour All-America Game, Penn State commit Chris Godwin still had a great week. Now that he is back home, the stand out wide receiver from Middletown (Del.) has more time to think about what is happening in Happy Valley.
On Monday, news broke that wide receivers coach Stan Hixon and other coaches submitted their resignations. Hixon played an integral role in recruiting Godwin, a wide receiver.
"Right now, I'm disappointed that Stan Hixon is gone," the 6-foot-2, 202-pound Godwin said. "He played a pretty big role in me going there. I wanted to be coached by him. At the same time, I'm starting to realize more and more that I committed to the school for their program, history and for the education that I would get. As of now I'm still committed to Penn State. I want to go to Penn State, but I have to wait and see what coach they are going to bring in, how things play out and if I can fit in that offense."
The Penn State head coach search is drawing national media attention and Godwin has noticed.
"I've heard everything from James Franklin and Al Golden to Greg Schiano and Coach (Mike) Munchak from the Titans," he said. "I know that Coach Golden has said he is staying at Miami. I haven't thought too much about these coaches and all the talk that is going on because I don't want to decide what I like and have it not happen. I want to wait for them to actually hire a coach before I really start to think about how I feel about them.
"I've talked to Coach Franklin and he is recruiting me to Vanderbilt right now. My recruiting coach at Vanderbilt is coach (Josh) Gattis, but I have talked to Coach Franklin a few times. I like Coach Franklin as a coach. I'd be pretty happy if he got the job. I don't know the others right now so I can't really give an opinion on them."
Godwin is set on staying with his commitment until the administration hires a new coach, but that doesn't mean other schools aren't reaching out to him.
"For me, the best-case scenario is a coach to come in with an offense that I fit in with," he said. "I want to go to Penn State but I'm just waiting to see what coach comes in.
"There are still schools that are recruiting me, but I don't have any schools that I am hoping to hear from. Florida, Boston College, Vanderbilt and Miami are trying to recruit me. Unless something changes I don't see myself taking any visits but I'm not ruling anything out until I see how things develop."
Godwin added that he is in a group message with many of the Penn State commits and they say they still want to attend Penn State.
