Rivals250 offensive lineman Pat Allen is picking up offers at a high rate. The stand out from Reisterstown (Md.) Franklin has almost 20 offers and Penn State is his newest offer.
"I called coach (Herb) Hand and he was at a concert, but before we got off the phone he told me I had an offer from Penn State," the 6-foot-4, 267-pound Allen said. "I know they have a really solid program with a lot of history.
"A lot of people think that, with all that (Jerry) Sandusky stuff, they won't be the same but I think they'll still be a major program. I definitely have an interest in Penn State. I'll most likely visit at some point."
Allen has not taken very many visits during his recruitment but did recently visit Virginia Tech.
One of the schools that has been absent from Allen's ever growing offer sheet is Maryland, his hometown team. Allen thinks that could be changing very soon.
"I think Maryland could be the next school to offer me," Allen said. "The coaches there want me to come down on Saturday. Coach (Keith) Dudzinski is my recruiting coach."
Some of the notable schools that have offered Allen are Florida State, Ohio State, Tennessee, Wisconsin and many others.
