PSU NCAA decision affect Settle

The news of the NCAA's lifting of Penn State's bowl ban didn't play a huge factor into Rivals250 defensive tackle Tim Settle's top five. The four-star prospect already had the Nittany Lions right in the mix.
"It's good news for them and that helps them," he said. "I've been with them for a long time since I've had the offer.

"What's really made it better is that Adam McLean is there and their best defensive lineman is leaving. That's even better for me."
Penn State is in the top five with Florida State, Virginia Tech, Alabama and Tennessee.
"I feel like these five schools care about me," he said. "I have been thinking about it and things fall into place. Schools eliminate themselves and I don't have time for childish games.
"Schools can't just offer me a scholarship, the coaches have to be able to recruit me."
Settle has yet to schedule any official visits, but noted he plans to take all five of his trips.
However, relatively close schools like Penn State and Virginia Tech may not land officials.
"For schools like Virginia Tech and Penn State, I probably won't need to take officials to them," he said. "I've already been to both multiple times and I'll probably go other places with those trips."
Speaking of other places, Settle noted that one other school that may land a trip is Oklahoma State.
"I just love their program and the coaches," he said. "The big thing about them is it's a big decision to go far away. They would be my No. 1 if they weren't so far away."
Settle is rated the No. 160 overall prospect in the 2015 class.
