PSU hosts fast rising 2016 QB

MORE: Top 2016 RB Walker visits PSU
One of the top 2016 players few people are talking about is Jake Zembiec. The quarterback from Rochester (N.Y.) Aquinas Institute, who was named the New York State player of the year as a sophomore, visited Penn State last weekend.

"Coach (James) Franklin was great," the 6-foot-2, 194-pound Zembiec said. "They asked me to come up to practice the night before junior day and it was the first day in pads so it was pretty intense. I think every coach, trainer and equipment guy introduced themselves. On the junior day we got to see the facilities, weight room, players lounge, field and everything else. Then I had a nice long chat with coach Franklin and other coaches."
Zembiec's experience with Franklin was very similar to what other recruits have said.
"He was really motivating," he said. "He and coach (Ricky) Rahne, the quarterbacks coach, talked to me about their offense for a couple hours and explained why they felt I would fit into their style. They plan on offering and officially recruiting me after Sept. 1."
There are a few other visits Zembiec has planned for this offseason.
"I'm headed to camp at Alabama then right to Florida State after in July," Zembiec said. "I will be back at Penn State for camp on June 8. We are working out dates to try and get to Michigan State and hopefully back to Notre Dame."
Zembiec led Aquinas Institute to an undefeated record and state championship last season.
