Provo likes offensive options

Greenacres (Fla.) John I. Leonard tight end Nick Provo has had the chance to show himself on both sides of the ball since he was a sophomore in high school. When it comes to college ball, the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder sees himself as a big offensive target.
Provo started out at tight end but did some defensive end duties this past season. The talented young man even was a punter. Any way you cut it, the talented senior-to-be will be one to watch in the world of recruiting.

"I started out as a tight end and that's where I've always played," Provo said. "I like tight end the best. I don't know. I just like being the one to score."
The honors followed as Provo picked up all-conference selections as both a junior and a sophomore. He attributes it to his catching ability in traffic.
"I catch the ball over the middle pretty well," Provo said. "I can get up field quickly after I make the big catch."
Florida, Iowa, Indiana, Syracuse, and several other schools have found the top prospect and sent early interest.
"I'm getting stuff from all over right now," he said. "Florida is my top school though. I've visited there, so I know what they have to offer and it was nice. I just really liked what I saw there."
Provo plans on camping at Florida, Syracuse, and a few high school camps inside him home state.
Aside from recruiting, the talented young man just wants to finish his season. Last year his team went 5-3 before getting the campaign cut short by a hurricane.
"I want to make it past the first round of the playoffs," he said. "We haven't done that yet, so we're really pushing hard to make it. Plus, I'm looking for 40 receptions and 500 yards receiving.
