Programs start to emerge for Cox

Chans Cox is still open to other options but the Lakeside (Ariz.) Blue Ridge four-star outside linebacker said some schools have started to emerge on his list.
Washington, Arizona State, Arizona, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Notre Dame are in good shape with Cox, rated as the seventh-best outside linebacker and No. 40 prospect in the 2013 class by Rivals.com.

"I'm still taking my time," Cox said.
"Out of the offers I have right now I kind of made that top list but I'm still waiting and I'm accepting everything. Some schools might just be a little late. I don't have a set list but I have an idea of top schools who have offered me right now. Those are some of the schools I've been keeping in really good touch with."
The 6-foot-3, 220-pound recruit said it has been relatively quiet on the recruiting front in recent weeks after months of being busy with programs from across the country offering him. Vanderbilt is showing new interest but the Commodores have not offered yet.
Nothing has been determined as far as upcoming visits but Cox said he would like to see four schools in particular as his decision-making process continues.
"It's kind of been quiet right now," Cox said. "There hasn't been anything new. Vanderbilt said I'm at the top of their list for linebacker and I've been talking to them but besides that no one really new right now.
"We've talked about trying to go out to Oklahoma and Arkansas at the end of April but I'm not for sure yet. Besides that, I haven't really thought about anything. I really want to get out to Notre Dame, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Washington."
Cox finished with 61 tackles in his junior season and there is a chance he could play offense as well since he rushed for 682 yards and 13 touchdowns.
