Prochak takes South Carolina trip

The first offer has come across the board for Spartanburg, S.C., quarterback Nick Prochak after an injury last season had many doubters thinking his football skills would not be up to par. However, the doors appear to have been opened.
The 6-foot-4, 207-pound three-star gun slinger has still put up great numbers through his senior season and it doesn't look like Prochak has missed a beat from recovering from his injury. Furman has come across with an offer, but the No. 16 rated prospect in South Carolina is looking for more after an unofficial visit this weekend.

"I went down to South Carolina this past weekend and they're really picking up interest," Prochak said. "I went down there and had a good talk with coach (Steve) Spurrier. You can tell everyone down there is trying to get everything perfected and with a couple of more good classes, they'll be just fine."
Maryland, Vanderbilt, Clemson, and Duke are the other teams showing considerately more interest now for Prochak as well. There are even a few favorites on the mind of the sleeper quarterback.
"I'd say it would be Clemson or South Carolina as my favorites," Prochak said. "I've enjoyed myself at both games I went to and they have their pros and cons. Overall, I really like those teams over the others right now."
"I'm thinking I should see an offer from them soon."
As for official visits, that's something that Prochak wants to wait on while interest from colleges continue to pick up. His decision will be close to the last minute.
