Process heats up for Phillips

Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite 2016 cornerback Bailey Phillips picked up his first college offer from Washington State in January and has since seen his list grow.
"It's going pretty good so far," Phillips said. "I've picked up, I think, four or five more offers since the last time we spoke and it's going pretty good right now."

His offer list now includes Louisiana Tech, Utah, UCLA, Washington State, and Houston along with Washington State, and on Friday morning he was on his way for a visit to SEC country.
"I'm currently on my way to Tennessee," Phillips said. "I'm going up for the spring game and going to talk to the coaches a little bit."
The trip to Knoxville is his first visit of the spring, and Phillips hopes to make a few more in the not too distant future.
"I think Notre Dame, and there's a couple of other schools I can't recall right now," Phillips said.
The recruiting process is certainly heating up for Phillips, and he is taking it all in. He is just beginning to really check out his options, and he is keeping everyone on equal terms.
"Not really, all of them are still pretty equal," Phillips said. "I have two more years to decide which school I want to go to, so I'm just taking it slow."
While the standout defensive back is taking things slow with the recruiting process, he does know what he is looking for in a future college destination.
"I'm looking for team unity, the way the scheme is at the school, and how the coaches coach their players," Phillips said.
