Price could be close to offers

David Price picked up an offer from SMU early on in his recruitment and no other schools have offered yet but it might only be a matter of time for the 2013 defensive back from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound recruit said last week at the U.S. Army National Combine that pretty much the entire Pac-12 along with Georgia, Illinois, Michigan State and many others are pursuing him.

"My freshman year going into my sophomore year I got an offer from SMU and that's the only one I have so far," Price said.
"It could be a big off-season because all my friends are telling me this is the coming-out year. I have friends that are going to ASU and they said junior year they had to break out. I have to do it myself on the field."
As for a leader, Price said his two favorites are USC and Oregon. Both are sending recruiting mail and he said hopefully leading into his senior year both the Trojans and Ducks become more interested.
"It's a tie between SC and Oregon," Price said.
"I really like SC because I have a cousin who goes there and he's shown me around the campus and they're a powerhouse. Oregon is an up-and-coming powerhouse and the uniforms stand out of course."
Price is running track this off-season and he's planning to attend a bunch of camps to get more exposure.
A handful of Long Beach Poly teammates have committed to Arizona State but some are looking around so Price is watching - and learning - from them about the recruiting process, too.
"I'm probably going to take some unofficial visits and do some camps," Price said. "I'm doing track now so I'm trying to get in shape for that.
"Some of those guys are trying to keep it on the low saying to wait until signing day but we talk about it all the time at practice."
