Prevot believes Army Bowl berth is a dream
When Torrodney Prevot first found out he had been selected as a U.S. Army All-American, he thought it was a prank.

The 6-3, 201-pound defender looked at his Alief (Texas) Taylor coaches and told them to quit joking. So they let him think it was a joke, that is until the package came.
"He said, 'alright, don't believe me,'" Prevot said. "Then a week or two later, a folder came in with all the papers I had to fill out and all the videos and all the equipment and stuff. I was like 'oh, OK.' I really didn't have anything to say. I was just in shock."
Prevot still wonders if it is all really happening, but the reality of it all is beginning to set in. On Monday, it got another step closer to reality as he was presented as an Army All-American in front of his friends, teachers, and coaches at Taylor High School.
"It's amazing. I just feel so blessed because I never thought I would make it to an All-American," Prevot said. "Like last year I had all-state honorable mention and I was like that's not good enough. I knew I had to work for something, but I didn't think it would be the Army All-American Bowl."
It is amazing how quickly things can change on the recruiting front. In the spring, Prevot became one of the hottest prospects in Texas, with scholarship offers coming from all across the country.
In July he gave his pledge to USC, but that has not kept other schools away, with two area programs keeping in touch on a regular basis.
"Oklahoma is recruiting me pretty hard and Texas A&M," Prevot said. "I haven't set anything with them but there is a possibility that I will."
Prevot does have a visit scheduled to USC for Dec. 7, and while he has not completely shut down his recruitment, he feels good about his decision to commit to USC.
"Right now I feel like it's pretty much a done deal, but there's always a second chance," Prevot said. "I believe in second chances so I can go see what they're trying to offer. But I feel like I'm going to stick with it."
In fact, Prevot is quick to recall exactly why he chose the Trojans.
"The decision was pretty much point blank. That's where I want to go because the education out there, you can't beat it and the football team we can always make it better," Prevot said. "I know they've been struggling defensively and that's why they recruited me, Kenny Bigelow, Jason Hatcher, Kylie Fitts, and Eddie Vanderdoes. That's why they recruited us because they're always going to have an offense. I just feel like that's why they're recruiting me, so I can go out there and make a change."
When Prevot arrives in San Antonio for the Army All-American Bowl, he will be joined by several future USC teammates including his West teammates Max Browne, Justin Davis, Fitts, Steven Mitchell, Michael Hutchings, Chris Hawkins, and Su'a Cravens.
They have not had much time to talk about it, but Prevot is looking forward to reuniting with several familiar faces.
"We just talked about meeting up out there and hanging with each other and trying to get some momentum going for when we're actually at SC," Prevot said.
What is he looking forward to most?
"I really don't know," Prevot said. "I just want to play, really."
