Notre Dame is off to a sluggish start in their 2003 campaign, dropping three of four after a 10-3 season a year ago. The latest news on the nation's top defensive tackle won't make the Irish feel any better.
"I canceled my visit to Notre Dame," said 6-foot-4, 285-pound defensive tackle DeMario Pressley. "I'm not considering them anymore. I plan on scheduling an official visit to Florida State sometime in the near future, and there's a very good chance I'll set up a visit to North Carolina soon too."
Does that mean the 'Noles and Heels lead?
"I don't really have any leaders right now," he said. "Those two have been up there all along, but I'm still interested in places like NC State, Miami and a lot of others."
Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley is off to a 4-2 start, and Pressley is doing things that most people wouldn't expect any defensive tackles to do.
"We're 4-0 in the conference but lost the two out of conference. I have nine or 10 sacks so far, an interception and a touchdown. A pass got batted and when I saw it just hanging up in the air my eyes lit up. I took a good angle, grabbed it and ran about 20 yards for the score. That's a defensive lineman's dream," he laughed.
Pressley has said all along he will wait to make his decision until Signing Day, and said that remains the case.
