And the No. 1 high school football team entering the 2013 season is Miami
(Fla.) Central.
This is the fourth time in the seven-year history of the poll that a team from
the Sunshine State has started atop the RivalsHigh 100 following Miami (Fla.)
Northwestern in 2007, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas in 2009 and Tampa
(Fla.) Plant in 2010.
Central returns almost its entire offensive unit from a year ago as well as six
members of a defensive unit that showed its mettle through a tough playoff run.
