Prep OT takes official west to Washington

Offensive tackle Greg Tomczyk out of Princeton (N.J.) The Hun School joined teammate Ernest Owusu on an official visit to Washington last weekend. Did the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder come away as impressed as Owusu did?
"I had a great time with Ernest out there," he said. "I left Friday morning and the first day I met with coach Willingham and the position coaches and then had lunch at the space needle. On Saturday, I went through the academic meetings and they showed us a tour of campus.

"I also was able to go to the basketball game between Washington and Arizona State. It was a good experience there. It was really nice to see how the campus interacts with the athletics and to see the support they give. Everyone was really enthusiastic."
Tomczyk was hosted on the trip by freshman defensive lineman Cameron Elisara.
"It was good hanging out with him," he said. "I didn't spend a lot of time with him, but he toured me around and talked about coach Willingham. He told me how he's very straight forward."
Just like Owusu, the two-star prospect was impressed by the coaching staff.
"The coaching staff there is tremendous," he said. "I talked to Tyrone Willingham and he talked about what he's doing with the program and what's expected of you. It was a good conversation."
So, how did the No. 45 prep school prospect in the country rate his trip to Seattle?
"It was a nine," he said. "I had a great time and I think the only school I'll give a 10 is the one I commit to."
Next up for Tomczyk is a trip to Louisville this weekend.
"As of right now I believe it's still on schedule," he said. "I know the coaches have changed and I was a little surprised by that, but I talked to one of the assistants, Kevin Wolthausen a couple nights ago and he still is ready for me to come.
"I'm also looking at a trip to Wisconsin sometime this month. On those visits, I just want to see the situation at those programs and see how the staff is."
