Prep OL is headed to the MAC

Fork Union (Va.) Fork Union Military Academy offensive lineman Christian Piazza made a decision this weekend. The 6-foot-8, 275-pounder made the selection while on an official visit this weekend.
"I committed to Bowling Green this weekend," he said. "I just had a great time, I liked the brotherhood that I felt is on the team. I love all the coaches and I just got that gut feeling that it was the right place for me.

"Plus, it's only an hour from my house so my parents and brothers will be able to come to my games."
The coaches were a big factor for Piazza.
"I love Coach Durkin, the offensive line coach," he said. "He was an All-American at UMass and played professionally after, so he knows what he is doing."
Obviously the chance to play early is a factor as well.
"Yes, they said that since I will be there for spring ball that I have a great chance to be a four-year starter because they are real thin at tackle," he said. "They said coming in, I will take reps with the twos to fight for a starting job."
As an early enrollee, Piazza plans to start school on January 10th.
