Prep DB Bowman waiting for offers

Interest is rising for prep safety Gerald Bowman out of Charlotte (N.C.) North Carolina Tech. The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder still hasn't landed a scholarship, but believes he is getting closer.
"LSU, Alabama and Clemson are showing interest, I'm waiting for schools to get done with the season," he said. "Apparently, Alabama told my coach if I'm qualified they'll offer me. They sent a big package to my school so they seem interested. I took the SAT and I'm waiting for my scores to come back. I'm 80-points off.

"I'm looking to take the ACT too. I've heard sometimes you'll come out with a different outcome and I may be able to do better on that."
Other schools are interested as well.
"Oklahoma State, USF and Michigan State are looking," he said. "If I qualify I think the sky is the limit."
Last month Bowman took an unofficial visit to Maryland.
"I went to the October 25th game against NC State," he said. "It was good. It was raining a lot and I think I'm looking at an official there."
Bowman already wrapped up his season at NC Tech and headed home to Philadelphia.
"I played in nine games and had 82 tackles, three interceptions two punt returns for touchdowns and 10 or 11 pass breakups."
