Prep DB Bowman on the verge of an offer
Charlotte (N.C.) North Carolina Tech safety Gerald Bowman is on the verge of his first offer. The 6-foot-1, 208-pounder received a verbal from a Big Ten school recently.
"Wisconsin has told me they are giving me a verbal," he said. "They are just waiting on my SAT scores.

"I talked to the coaches the other day and they are talking to my coach and my defensive back coach. They told me a bit more about their program."
Does Bowman know much about Wisconsin?
"I've got to look into it, look further into their program," he said. "I don't know that much about them. I've got to look at the background and environment to see if it fits me. Hopefully I can take a visit up there."
Bowman has no visits planned right now.
The prep defensive back believes more offers could be coming.
"I think South Florida is close," he said. "They want to see my SAT scores too. They have been talking a lot to my coach and are coming to see us practice. The coaches already told me they may offer.
"I'm receiving interest from other schools as well including Maryland, Auburn, Tennessee and Pittsburgh."
Bowman maintains there are no leaders at this time. Wherever he ends up, he plans to enroll in January.
This season Bowman has posted six tackles, three interceptions and one returned for a touchdown in five games.
